Hot Pink Button Down

My third, and final entry!

Being a faithful "What Not To Wear" watcher, I wanted to make a top with some structure.

I chose this "New Look" pattern from the rack at Wal-mart.  I know, I know.. but it's here, and it seems I'm always there.

New Look 6407

I made view "B", and could not be happier with the way it turned out.  It fits like a glove, and I really like this hot pink fabric I found at Joanns.  It was back with the quilting cotton, so I may like it a lot less if I see someone carrying it around on a bag, or heaven forbid, in an actual quilt.

I followed the pattern exactly, and I hope to make some of the other views soon.

While making these projects, I got more comfortable with my rolled hem foot, used my serger for the first time, AND my button hole foot!  I've been sewing for as long as I can remember, but mostly just the basics.  I've always let my mom do the "fancy" stuff.  Thanks Rae for motivating me to try some new things!
