Aunting

A few weeks ago my brother asked me to come and watch his beautiful daughter while they went on a bike ride. (Bike as in motorcycle) I, of course, was delighted.

Jackson and I packed up and headed to Ohio to spend the day with this little cutie:

He loves her so much.  Would totally figure our last child likes babies more than any of our other children combined. Then again, he may  night like her so much if she monopolized his mother's attention...

Baby Edy is a petite little gal- and much to my delight, she sucks her fingers! The middle two, just like her Uncle Simon.

She multi-talented just like he is as well...

She can suck her fingers AND pick her nose at the same time!

At the end of the day, when I put the little missy in her bed so I could pick up some things, Jackson decided there was room for two!

Being an Auntie, is one of my most favorite things, I am so blessed to have such wonderful nieces and nephews!

My Nephew Is A Redneck.

I'm going to blame it on the help.

My nephew Logan is here this week working on the farm. We love having him here~ He is a fun distraction from the daily grind.

It has been bloomin-hot here. And dry. So very, very dry. Poor kid hauls around that red water bottle everywhere he goes.

The past two days Logan and Zac (one of our employees) have been working on a broken water pipe. Doesn't sound that bad on these hot days does it? They could be baling hay, right?  BUT, the broken water pipe is under six inches of concrete and 2 foot of dirt. In the cow lot. of course. Cows are curious. So very curious. They have their nose right in the middle of the job. Water, dirt, muddy muck, poop, and cows. Every day is an adventure!

Last night after finishing up for the day, Logan came up to the porch and collapsed. Completely filthy, with his new cut-off shorts. Apparently, during the day he got hot enough he wished he had shorts on. Zac, being the fabulous employee that he is, gave him his request. Cut his pants right on the spot. Logan didn't even bother to take the extra pant off, just wore it around his ankles for the rest of the day. Rednecks.

And today? Today they are baling hay.

Angle Family Fun Day- Part 2

Ben, Mindy and my fabulous nieces and nephews had spent a few days in Topeka before coming to our house.  They made a few purchases while the were there:

Big John and Ben
or was it
John and Big Ben?
Jim?

They are HUGE. HUGE.

"... I like big butts and I cannot lie..."

I like the way they sound on the road! The clip-clop of their shoes makes me happy.

Sweet baby Lucas and Nana.

Miss Lydia was ready to go home. Really ready for me to stop taking pictures of her.

oh ugh. She melts my heart!

Jackson is such a baby hog.

I love her little piggies hanging out of the chair!

So, so snuggly sweet. Smells good too!

And then they left, one by one.

I am sad we all live so far apart. I really wish I could see them more often. I would love to host family dinner once a week!

Angle Family Fun Day, Part 1

Angle Family Fun Day started on Thursday afternoon (2 weeks ago) with the arrival of my parents.

Friday morning Dad took William, Isabelle and Jackson to the Topeka horse auction, and Mom spent the entire day with Elizabeth and I cleaning.

My brother Ben, sister-in-law Mindy arrived at bedtime Friday evening with their four munchkins.

My two oldest nephews came later Friday night- they are old enough to drive themselves AND bring a girlfriend! oh my.

My brother Reuben, girlfriend NaTasha and their additional two, finally got here Saturday afternoon.

Unfortunately, my baby brother and his little family could not make it. We sure missed them!

I took tons of pictures (with the wrong lense) especially of this little cutie:

Miss Ashley Jean.
She is about 1 month younger than Jackson- and totally mothered him while she was here.  It was adorable. And she's funny. So funny.  Says the cutest things!

An early morning swing session with Papa.

This was our first time meeting Ben & Mindy's baby:

Lucas Benjamin.

Such a good natured little guy. And, he wasn't completely opposed to me holding him either!

Saturday afternoon Nana made a hopscotch grid for the kids to play on- Isabelle was completely distraught because "Nana DID NOT make it right!" oh my.

The weather was beautiful, and we were outside most of the day- riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, hopscotch, in and out of the playhouse. But the most exciting thing of the day? Uncle Ben fixed Jackson's Gator.

He never let's anyone else drive- but Miss Ashley can hold her own!

Jackson was smitten with my newest niece:

Princess Edy.

She is a love.

Edyth Jean

No "Super Bowl" for me yesterday.

I had more important things to do.

I had a new niece to meet.

Is she not just the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?

Jackson thought she was pretty special too.

She's perfect.

Every tiny little part of her.

Such a petite little lady.

I could not get enough of her.

How lucky is she with three big brothers?!

Her Mommy and Daddy love her just a tiny, tiny bit.

I'm sure to be her favorite Auntie!
