The older I get, the more things changes. Such is Valentine's day. I love it and always loved getting my four children Valentines. Then there is the Valentine distribution at school. Today? Things are much different. I still bought all four gifts but...two teenage daughters received beautiful flowers from boyfriends, one is home sick (passing out both ends if you know what I mean) and missing distributing her 12 year old Valentines at school. My feelings on Valentines Day? take each as the year comes, some are good, some may be bad and there is always next year to change or look forward to.... I love my sweethearts and am thankful each one is around as well as thankful for a Day, whether Hallmark or not, to remind of the precious things in life.

I do think that Valentines is a Hallmark holiday, but I always like to have an excuse to spend some alone time with my sweetie. I always say no flowers for valentines day, I would like some just because he is thinking of me and gets them for me for no reason. So some day when I am having a bad day or just need something uplifting, there are some beautiful flowers. We usually spend time together at some point around the holiday. This year it was a night away with no kids, sometimes it is an evening out or dinner after the kids go to bed. Either way we always find time to spend some alone time.

I am a fan of Valentine's day, fakey Hallmark holiday or not, my mom always made it a special day and now it is my turn to do that for my family! And I am rather enjoying it!

My favorite Valentine's Days were before I ever had a valentine to celebrate with. Libby and I used to terrorize the GB boys and thinking about it now makes me giggle so much.

But I also love V Day because I get to celebrate my great grandma Minnie. She turned 105 today.

well, the older i get, the more hallmarky the day is! i know, scrooge, right? Although it is nice to get some flowers in the middle of winter - too bad my 2 times i get flowers are 7 days apart! ;) At least i get them i guess! Hallmarky or not, it is a nice day to feel and spread a little extra love! :)

I love the idea of Valentine's Day, but when it comes down to it, well it is just another day, except maybe you get an expensive card! The kids make it more fun because Grace is excited about it. Valentine's Day does remind me to be thankful for the ones I love though! Just my thoughts!
